Writer’s Guidelines

Introduction:

Adversity is inevitable. Pain, trouble, and heartache strike every believer on the road of life. Despair abounds. Can we truly stand firm in our faith and walk in victory when the storms of life roll in?

Yes! “In this world you will have trouble,” Jesus said. “But take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:33. In times of trial, sorrow, or despair God invites us to lift our eyes to Him--to behold a glimpse of His glory so brilliant--earthly cares fade from sight! Adversity is inevitable but if we allow Him--God will use it to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Himself. For it’s “in the valley” that we truly learn to know God--His nature, His character, His attributes--His glory!

Proclaim His Glory! Ministries online is dedicated to declaring the knowledge and glory of God through powerful personal testimonies--ordinary lives transformed by the extraordinary power of God! The purpose is to demonstrate God's divine attributes through dynamic personal accounts that offer hope and spiritual encouragement, drawing the reader closer to the heart of our Heavenly Father!

We are looking for stories of Christians who have overcome a trial, loss, weakness, heartache, adversity, or other challenge, and experienced a deeper relationship with God as a result. (Submissions are being accepted for Proclaim His Glory! online as well as future compilations / book projects.)

All Stories:

- Must be true-life testimonies--inspiring, powerful, uplifting. No fiction, please

- Must be 750 to 2000 words in length

- Must demonstrate how your “encounter with God" strengthened your faith and highlight an attribute of God’s character you learned from the experience.

Share your testimony "Guidepost-style” in first person or "as told to." Write from the heart and draw the reader in with drama and detail, humor and heart-warming images. Share a meaningful Bible verse you discovered during your experience and how it helped carry you through and/or strengthened your faith in Jesus Christ.

Remember, show--don't tell, use dialogue, emotion, strong verbs, body language, and the five senses to bring your story to life. Avoid teaching and preaching--let the story convey the message. Begin and end powerfully. Though these stories are thoroughly Christian, please use only terms, names, places, etc. that are easily understood by all.

• Multiple submissions are accepted (please send separately). Reprints are also accepted if you are the copyright holder (please state when and where published).

If your submission is accepted for our website, you will be contacted by e-mail. Upon acceptance, you will receive a complimentary copy of our book, Experiencing the Great I Am, and your short bio included online with your article. We regret that at this time we are unable to offer payment.

If your submission is accepted for a future compilation, you will be contacted by e-mail and receive an honorarium (TBD) upon publication.
